Audio Show Reviews
Audiofest '15 – Herb Reichert – Stereophile
As many of you know, I used to love horns. I loved them because when the stars lined up just right, the world’s best horns could play waaaaaay closer to real life-both dynamically and scale-wise-than any audiophile speaker at any price. Jump factor pinned the needles. Unfortunately, I gave up on them years ago. Why? Because full-range horns were never truly coherent and they made solo singers and musicians appear too big. (On the good side, because they played big, horns could do opera better any little boxes.) And then, a few weeks ago I heard a giant horn system designed by Jeffrey Jackson of EMIA and (incredulously) it seemed perfect in every way-but it cost $350,000! Today at CAF I played a couple of my own CDs through the Volti Audio Vittora horns and they seemed perfect too-and a pair of Volti Vittoras costs only $25,000! The Voltis (reviewed by Art Dudley in September 2013) played my Bach Goldberg Variations (with Ito Ema at the keyboard) with a gentle liquid smoothness that exceeded any liquid smoothness I have heard before. Piano sound was among the most realistic I have ever experienced from a loudspeaker. I wrote in my listening notes that I think I could live with these for the rest of my life! Bravo Volti! (and Triode Wire Labs!)

The gorgeous tone of Johnny Hodges’ alto saxophone handily survived the trip through a pair of Living Voice Avatar OBX-RW loudspeakers ($11,850/pair), driven by a BorderPatrol P21 amplifier and USB NOS DAC ($9750 and $1250, respectively, with all cables and AC cords from Triode Wire Labs.
To summarize from Ron Brenay (Reviewer from New Record Day)
“If Volti Audio, Triode Wire Labs, and Border Patrol Audio have one thing in common, it would be the fact they certainly know how to make a room sound remarkable. Sitting down in room 1102 was one of those rare moments when I hear something that captivates me to the point of no return. Music poured out of these speakers with a tone that can only be described as rich, focused, 3-dimensional, engaging, and most of all, united. I have heard enough horns to know that many will check all the boxes in the bass, midrange and treble department but bridging these together with such effortless magic as Greg accomplished with the Volti Audio Vittora’s left this reviewer gobsmacked to say the least. I am not kidding around here folks, if you are tired of listening to speakers and want to know what it’s like to experience music, Volti Audio is door number one. On your way to music perfection you might as well take into account that as Greg mentions in this video, there are other forces at play to bring this level of musical enjoyment to the mix and it certainly doesn’t shock me that the well known and respected Border Patrol was reporting for duty. Tie this package together with an NRD favorite cable company “Triode Wire Labs” and you now have the holy grail in high fidelity. If you head back to room 1102 right now you will most likely find them replacing the carpet from the nail scrapes as they tried to pull me out of that room. Incredible work here and easily deserving of the RMAF 2014 Ron’s Pick Award for Best in Show.“
Well it has been some months now and I have your power wires on all my power cable units in my reference system. As I exclaimed initially right out of the bag, your wires expanded the soundstage, and cleaned it thoroughly; massive astounding musically presentations are endless with these sweet cables! I have read much and others are pleased with your hand crafted products. I do not think I can add what is so difficult to explain when listening to music and the vast improvements and musical realization your cables have supplied. I can add this though, you are short sighting your Digital Power cable, that is when connected to a DAC, the best way I can explain it is…the instruments just seemed to separate and come in the room. I thank-you so very much.

After quite a bit of listening to my system , first off I have to say that once again your mains cables are just something pretty special . I’m now fully ‘Trioded ‘up as far as power cables are concerned.
Now as far as the speaker cables go , I’m left with a system actually not unlike the sound when using the Nordost . . . only quite a bit better in every way and decidedly more musical. I really don’t understand how that can be and must apologise for not listening to your advice and doing it earlier. To say I’m impressed is understatement Pete. Remembering that the Nordost cables that I own are cheap by Nordost standards , but are still about twice the price of your cables , it makes your cables the bargain of the century .
Really, really impressive stuff Pete . . . thanks once again.
Stuart F – London, U.K.
My Ten Plus arrived yesterday, and it immediately became my Hera II preamp’s PC, replacing a Nordost Vishnu (I once had all Nordost Heimdahl cables; never really happy with them). I noticed improvement, immediately. The system is considerably quieter, yielding all of the associated benefits. I hadn’t thought noise an issue; oh well. I just finished playing a decidedly non-demonstration quality lp of Brahms variations, that I listen to a lot. The piano sound was more realistic, and the electronic clangyness almost nonexistent. I don’t A/B, but have a pretty good aural memory, so I can tell you that I’m really impressed with what you’ve done here. Also your packing is classy, appropriate for the quality of the PC, but confounding to its affordability.
I’m delighted to support your superb work through word of mouth; that’s how I found Triode Wire Labs.

Just wanted to update you on the power cables and what they did for my system. They have been in my system, on my mono amps, for about three full days now. Love the improvement. Most noticeable is an increase in dynamics. Also, instruments, in small trios, for example, seem more separated and larger in scale. Vocals are a bit smoother and more lifelike. Overall, the system sounds like a veil was lifted from it. So thank you very much, and I will be thinking about ordering another one soon for my preamp/processor. Take care.

I have some interesting news for you…
I’ve been listening to your Spirit interconnects and speaker cables for a bit now. I had a top audiophile friend visit today and in his words, “you have reached stratospheric high-end sound, the mids are gorgeous, the sound is balanced, and there is no particular part of the sound that draws you in, the tonal balance is perfect, this is the best sound I have ever heard”. This client has extremely good ears, he is a musician, audiophile and hosts concerts in his house, mostly classical and baroque type. His son is a top violinist too. Better compliments than this you won’t get!
One word of advice to anyone thinking that your cables are too tamed, “re-evaluate the system synergy, you won’t be sorry”.
Your cables tread a very difficult line between musicality and resolution. If anything is out of place, it won’t be the cables, that’s for sure. Another thing that my client’s seem to like is that you don’t have 3 different interconnects and speaker cables, please remain focus and don’t go gaga like so many BS manufacturers out there. You have the best cables and you don’t need to prove anything more to the world.
In the meantime, I am very satisfied with my sound and have stopped tinkering, thanks to you!

Both the TWL Regular Digital & High Power digital cords are fantastic on my Devialet 200 !
I have compared them extensively with a Graditech Vioma, ESP Reference-II, Virtual Dynamics Master 2.0-LE.

Just wanted to let you know that I am really being seduced by the sound of my system, as your cables continue to break in. It just boggles my mind how good things are sounding, particularly the better recorded
music. I am trying to sell off my recently purchased MIT cables. I am considering taking the funds from that sale to help fund the purchase of your Digital American HP cable to use with my Crown digital amp, in place of the 7+ cable. I would then move the 7+ cable to my subwoofer.
Anyhow, things are sounding fantastic as it is!
Stew G – Rochester, NY
At risk of being repetitious, I must report my delight with a Ten Plus, this time servicing my Rogue Ares phono stage. The background is now utterly silent, the sound so eloquent, it’s almost scary. The Ten Plus replaced a power cord specifically designed for analogue, that I was quite pleased with. However, my experience with Ten Plus impelled me to try another; bingo! Thanks for it all.
Jeffrey K – Bronx, NY
Cable turned up first thing this morning, thanks for such a fast turnaround. Only just managed to connect up and have a listen to my system, but straight away I can say that things are radically better (again)! Thanks once again Pete . . . lovin’ your work!
Stuart F – London, UK
I’m pleased to report that after 5 weeks in my setup, your Digital American power cords are providing me with a very high level of musical enjoyment. Simply stunning!
Burning in three TWL PCs and three Furutech outlets at the same time certainly had its ups and downs (more on this below), and it’s only in the last few days that everything finally fell into place: fantastic top and bottom extension, glorious soundstage, and excellent overall balance.
1) Some highlights:
– My overall setup is still very detailed, fast and neutral, but everything now has much more harmonic complexity and layering. For example, ‘lush’ recordings sound absolutely glorious, without turning everything to syrup. Sibilants are never harsh. Cymbals and brushes are revealed in all their glory without being over the top.
– I’ve never experienced such a wonderfully deep and holographic soundstage, and it does not sound artificial or contrived. This is especially obvious when I shuffle play a bunch of recordings with very different soundstages and sonic signatures – switching from one track to the next highlights the differences, which can be quite startling as the sense of space specific to that recording suddenly reveals itself.
– Deep, fast, controlled bass.
– Annoying ‘tubbiness’ (and chestiness in vocals) has vanished.
2) It’s been an interesting journey. A year ago when I started to upgrade my system (eventually replacing every component), I was a complete skeptic when it came to power cable upgrades. At the insistence of my local shop, I tried a few PCs, but most either provided marginal improvements, or made things worse. The only ones I eventually liked were the Shunyata Alpha series, but I could not bring myself to spend that much money for the real (but not great) performance improvement they provided. This prompted some further research on the net that led me to your TWL PCs, and as they say, the rest is history. As much as I am extremely pleased with the results, I don’t believe in magic. What I do believe is that your PCs enable all the other system components to perform at their absolute peaks, and that the end result can be just wonderful.
And for that, Sir, I thank you.
Louis D – Montreal, Canada
I didn’t think I could justify the expenditure, but as luck would have it, I came upon a 7+ ac cable. I just received it today and I am so freakin’ blown away by it that I could not stop my hand from reaching for my credit card to order the Digital American for my Oppo BDP 105. I have been into this hobby since the mid ’70s and cannot think of a more significant, cost-effective instant upgrade to any of the many, many systems I have owned over that time than you ac cable has provided. I now better understand what all the gushing is about….. 🙂

I felt it necessary to let you know how much I’m enjoying the recent TWL power cables I purchased from you. I typically don’t provide mfgr. feedback unless a product is over-the-top. The American Digital’s including the HC version are performing outstanding in their respective positions within my system! In addition, the 7+ ‘s on my mono amps sound awesome as well! I’ve been using the upper-end power cables from one of the top names in the industry and upon break-in of your cables I had no desire to go back! Your cables provide a musicality that the others just can’t touch. I really didn’t plan/think I’d be replacing my previous cables but the consistent positive owner feedback, fair pricing, and your 30 day policy made trying them irresistible. I’m so glad I did! In addition to the musicality, your cables provide a very natural sound, the right balance between detail and warmth. They just sound “right”…like great HiFi is supposed to!
Along with great products Pete, your customer service, timely communications, and exacting fulfillment of commitments was very refreshing! Keep up the great work and I wish you well in your continued endeavors!
Jay M – Fort Worth, TX
HOLY SHIT !!! 🙂
P.S. Thanks, you just saved me 5k, thinking I needed to buy new amps.
Roger P – Boise, ID
Cable posted Monday and already received it within 3 days! THANKS !!
Cable looks and sounds great, the triode wire labs sound is very revealing, without losing balance. Thank you for this wonderful product!
Eddy V – The Netherlands
Pete has hit a home run with the bases loaded with his new Digital cord. The cord arrived today, burned in and ready to go. I hooked it up to my DAC and am half way into Jennifer Warnes’ “The Well”. What I’ve been hearing from the first moment is clean, layered, holographic, beautiful music. Bass has improved. I recently purchased a Lampi 4 level 4 DAC and upgraded the output caps. Given all of the hoopla surrounding the Lampi DACS, I had expected to be thrilled with it. For me it was a bit of a let down. It wasn’t until I paired it with the Triode cord that the virtues of the Lampizator became apparent. Pete’s digital power cord is high end without the ludicrous price so often seen with cables. A 30 day trial comes with all of TWL products. Thank you Pete!

My Digital American passed 500 hours this past weekend, so I figured it was time for feedback…
I purchased the new Digital American power cable from Triode Wire Labs in hopes of kicking up the sound from my Bryston BCD-1 CD player. Not that it needed much help, but as a long-time user of Pete’s power cords I knew there was a better-than-even chance the Digital American would bring out the absolute best from the BCD-1. And so it did!
The Digital American is Pete’s most attractive cord to date. With a striking gold speckled black sheath and beautiful silver, black, & clear connector plugs, this cord can be classed in the audio jewelry category. But you don’t buy a cord just because it looks cool, right?
The Digital American sounded nice right out of the bag as Pete pre-cooks all his cables, but after 500 hours this cord sounds superb. The BCD-1 has an analog sound to it, but the Digital American added a more natural analogue-like playback so that it’s hard to tell sounds coming from my CDP and my turntable apart.
There is more space around the instruments and voices. Textures such as keys striking strings, brushes across drumheads, notes from electric guitars coming through a wah-wah pedal are vivid to the point of one can almost see them in the air. Bass notes are thick n’ rich, while voices shimmer. Best of all they sound incredibly natural, as if the musicians are right in front of me, each playing in their own space.
Now I realize there are a few other components in my system helping to achieve this sound, but one of the beauties of Triode Wire Labs power cords is the synergy they have had with my components. When Pete announced this cord I was very excited as I knew it would fit in with it’s colleagues, and so it has. This cord has achieved everything I’d hoped it would. A+!”
Tom H – Illnois
I received the Digital American today and plugged into my Oppo 105. From only few hrs of listening, my initial impression is I would like to (or rather I MUST) change all my power cables to TWL.
There is nothing I can possibly add that you aren’t aware of or haven’t heard from Audio gurus. All I can say is my system had a lot of digital artifacts / glare, that I was trying to eliminate for quiet a long time now – bought a tube preamp, changed to better IC, better isolation, room acoustics, etc etc but nothing really worked as to what I was trying to eliminate primarily as to build a foundation for my 2-channel system. A single TWL cable in the Oppo transport just got rid of it today. More to the surprise, I use Oppo as a player, playing lossless/DSD from the hard drive and not as a real CD transport. Not a placebo effect but I am hearing improvements in every aspect of audio (you name it) but what is most striking is that now I am hearing a very well BALANCED sound.
Such a profound effect with a power cable, until today, is just unimaginable – Thank You.
Debjit G – California
My description of your cables is based on careful listening. I find it thought-provoking that your cables have been able to bring out the inherent “musicality” of my system audibly better than the more costly cables I have compared them with.
Your latest cable for use with digital equipment (“Digital American”) is working fine. It works best on my MSB CDIII Transport where the audible benefit was easy to hear. Every single component in my system (except the subwoofer) is now being supplied by mains current through your excellent power cables which have significantly elevated the musical performance of my components, making for a far more emotionally involving listening experience. This is the single most cost-effective upgrade I have ever made to my hifi system. I am very impressed, particularly in view of the reasonable cost involved.

So here is my review from Paris, France, about your TWL10+. After a few weeks of settling, two 1.5m TWL10+ Gold Schuko (amps), one 1.8m TWL10+ Furutech Schuko (source). The system;
Audioaéro Capitole Reference SE, McIntosh Mc501x2, Focal Micro Utopia Be, HP Nirvana Sx-Ltd, Audioprana Argent OCC Cryo XLR, Secteur Triode Wire Labs 10+.
Dedicated room, and light acoustic treatment. Direct connections in walls, dedicated lines.
How can I say? The best PC I have had! At any price, any technology! Ouch!
One word: Natural.
Actually, and to be more specific, your slogan is exactly the result, which is obtained: “natural, open and balanced sound “.
The very high quality of these cables; they respect the tone of the electronics, but by glorifying it : silence, dynamics, transients, tones, focus, soundstage (3D), everything… everything… everything…
But your products do not tempt to speak about it in audiophile terms… In fact, we are talking about “natural and musical qualities”, nothing else. This is the best compliment I can do. Bravo!
Really, an incredible achievement and I think one of the best audio quality and value (in this order) of the market. Sorry for my bad english 🙁
David D – FRANCE
I put the 7+ in my system and went hmm… sounds quiet; REALLY quiet. Actually, it sounds dead. All the life is gone. I listened for about 20 to 30 minutes and then BOOM! The room filled with energy, the soundstage bloomed, and for the first time in a long while, I was enjoying listening to my system. There was such a huge improvement in sound that it is hard to quantify. Everything seemed to improve, but I especially noted that the musical energy moved out from behind the speakers and reached to the listening chair, soundstage got deeper, separation was greatly improved, drums and piano sound much more realistic, and I am able to hear more of the sound of the room.
Next, the “American Speaker Cables” went in. I listened for about 10 minutes…well maybe the Kimber Kable TC8’s are a really good match because I don’t hear any improvement. So, I leave the stereo turned down low while I watch TV for a couple of hours. When I return, I turn the volume back up and WOW! The soundstage had become really focused. If it was a little soft before, now it was carved in stone. Kind of like the old reviewers line that I always laugh about, there was more there…there! (I can’t believe I wrote that).
I am not a Golden-ear by any means. Usually, when others claim significant differences when comparing cables, tweaks etc., it seems to be only subtle to me. Needless to say, I am extremely pleased with my purchase!
Dan C – Austin, Texas
I can already tell you that I’m pretty astounded at how good it is! I can’t believe that it’s just blown away a very nice (and more expensive) Isotek cable in just about every way… and that’s before it’s settled in properly??
Thanks again… pretty sure you’ll be hearing back from me in the not too distant future.
Stuart F – London, ENGLAND
After getting some hours on the interconnect cables and having time to listen, I can say your new interconnects are very good. I had a pair interconnects in my system (between preamp & amp) that I like a lot and felt these were a good valve compared to many of the cables on the market. These cables cost about 2 1/2 times the cost of yours. However, your cables took a haze away from voices and instruments and expanded the soundstage——a nice improvement over the cables I had. Your new interconnects should be a great success for Triode Wire Labs and compete or beat cables costing 3-4 times more..
Mitchell S – Pennsylvania
Can’t remember if I thanked you. I really appreciate you building my specialty cord and getting it out so quickly. An awesome product and fantastic service as always!
George M – Las Vegas, Nevada
Your cables are really, really excellent!!!
Wonderful! I plug in a cable; my sound is always there with significant improvements. I plug a second, my sound is still and always there, and there are further improvements, etc.
I was looking for “the Holy Grail” for my system and I found it. It’s you!
Raoul J – FRANCE
I’m happy to report back to you, you can’t have these back! No No! The haze has run off and the “American Speaker Cables” have shown their great high-resolution…. I’d never heard before in cables at this price point. Very nice flesh on the bones as well. Nice realism and a great match and excellent synergy with my hybrids.
And the cryogenically treatment of The American Speaker cable seems to bring the sound and hi resolution up to par with the continuous Cast Copper Ohno, of the Analysis Plus Solo Crystal Copper interconnects. If I didn’t already have the interconnects, I’d sure like to see what your new interconnects are like. But I can tell you now…your speaker cables are every bit as great sounding as the Analysis Plus Solo Crystal Copper I’m using… they really are a match made in heaven from what I am hearing. Job very well done, My Man! Well done… and I’ve been spreading the word on what you have to offer. I’m sure I will be getting a power cord or two in the near future.
Byron F – St. Charles, Missouri
Having good experiences with IeGo connectors on both LessLoss power cable (comes with Oyaide) and Grover Huffman powercord (comes with Furutech), I asked Pete to fabricate a 7 plus with IeGo connectors in both ends. Pete also changed a few things in the configuration of the standard 7 plus and the result of these changes is really worth the experience. The already very good 7 plus (I own 3) sounds a bit more transparent, gives more detail especially in the midst and the connectors give the cable even more PRAT and a more dynamic sound. It took some time to find the right place in my set but now it is feeding my ARC LS 26 preamp and that is working very well. I know that a cable should never act as a tone control but in the real world we all know that we adjust the sound of our systems with different cables and other devices. On a already warm sounding part of your set, this version of the 7 plus can be a good match and it never spoils the synergy from the combination with other TWL cables. It took some time and effort to get the right connectors to Long Island but Pete is always a very good and transparent communicator and in the end it all worked out alright. An honest and communicative contact forms a significant added value on every product a buy and Pete is one of those guys! Highly recommended.
Paul U – The NETHERLANDS
My 10 Plus power cable just arrived and as soon as I`ve put in some 50 hrs. of music through it (more or less the time it took my 12 Plus to come into their own) I`ll be glad to let you have our impression on it`s performance. However, after just a few minutes of play two things became obvious; My system was playing louder at the same volume setting we use habitually and there was a discernible increase in low end spectrum, particularly in double bass and cello notes (Tout les matins du monde – SACD). If this performance continues to improve, I`will certainly be a most satisfied customer!
Luis C – CHILE
The cable arrived today, popped it into my amp, replacing a $850 IsoClean Premium II. I’m listening to Jennifer Warnes “Famous Blue Raincoat” – your cable is absolutely crushing the Premium II. The overall improvement in performance is in the “are you kidding me”? range!
Thanks again, I’m very impressed that you have created products of this quality at these price points. As they years go by and I get closer to retirement age, I have to be a bit more careful about where I put my $$. Being able to upgrade without breaking the bank is a good thing!
Bruce M – Martinez, California
For a friend who had sound problems, I “brought” a cable and we plugged it on its preamp. Wow for him! Only one cable and wow!!!
Many discs that no longer listening or partially because his sound was hard headed back to his drive CD.
I also tried on its system my full set of TWL.
And what for him yet? Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow Wow !!!!
Even on a “humble” system with these cables, we get an excellent result.
For to have this sound quality, without TWL, you have to spend a lot more of money for the HiFi equipment.
Raoul J – FRANCE
Well I have to admit you definitely have a great speaker cable here!…Even against the “top of the line” Transparent audio cables, yours exhibited a little more dynamic and slightly forward sound, in a good way. They are still perfectly smooth from top to bottom, but they have a little more life in them. The Transparent cables with the “Turtle Coffin boxes” now sounds a little “Soft” maybe pulled back or laid back. It’s still a great cable and has a nice “Esoteric” sound, however for sure what is better about your cables after they burn-in, is that it gets more of the inner detail between the speakers with a little more impact across the whole frequency spectrum.
With the Transparent cables, they might be a bit artificially smoothed out which many might find a better match in their system if they have “Hot” sounding components in the first place, which is probably why they are popular with Wilson Audio speakers, etc… That may actually be a little too analytical and the Transparent cable can help balance them out better.
In any case, your cables are very impressive and add a little more raw and real sound, they don’t cover anything up. It’s interesting as they are louder as well than the other cables we have on hand to test, I think I have noticed this in the past testing some Cryo’ed cables vs. standards it seems to make them sound more efficient many times.
At first the Transparent cables seemed to have a bit deeper bass and filled the whole floor from front to back of the room. Your cables had a little more “Boxed” in bass, but after about one hour of play that all changed and I’m getting about as good if not better bass response specifically on more delicate notes.
Your cables were a little more upfront in the beginning, but as the bass opened up, they did smooth out substantially after letting them run for about 2 hours, with really excellent balance. Even some of the more digital sounding recordings sound very analog now.
If there is any absolute determining factor for sure your cable is the most neutral with dynamics, where something like the Transparent cable sounds great, but now it is noticed that it pulls everything back a little bit more maybe making it pleasant, but it’s not as true to the recording in a raw sense.
There was no competition besides the Transparent’s; we have Audioquest, Supra, DH Labs, Kimber, Nordost etc…and none of those can be take as seriously in this case, so nothing at this level.
Thanks again, I will be in touch.
Dave M – North American Audio, Chicago, IL
I just wanted you to know that I have been very pleased with your cables. I now have (2) “Ten Plus”, (2) “Seven Plus”, and a set of jumpers. I will be needing one more power cord for my TT in the near future and am looking forward to your upcoming interconnects. Your cables bring much more detail and openness than other aftermarket cables I have owned in the past at a fair price. Keep up the great work.
Mitch S. – Chambersburg, PA
Your speaker cables sound better than my other three speaker cables. I am looking forward to buy more cables from you later.
Tom P. – Calgary, CANADA
OK Pete, I’m still shaking my head in disbelief. When I got home, I, of course, powered up my system to play some music.
It was a pleasant shock, to say the least, when the music started playing.
Pete, bass was clean and tight and the overall presentation just seemed to open up and bloom.
“You’ve got to be kidding me!”
Long story short, for the past 2 hours I’ve been going through my collection simply amazed at what I’ve been hearing.
The 7+ has completely transformed my system…honestly.
I am blown away.
Most importantly, I want to thank you for your patience working with me.
If a prospective customer ever needs a reference, please feel free to use me.

Well, after living with the single “Seven Plus” in my system for the past few months I feel like I’m in a position to comment on it’s impact. I’ve tried it feeding my power conditioner, my preamp, and my power supply for the Naim DAC. In all cases there is more 3-dimensionality to the sound and instruments are more ‘reach out and touchable‘, the bass has more weight and substance, and there is a smoothness and liquidity right through the frequency range, which I’m thoroughly enjoying. In short, I’m really pleased!
Jason H – New Zealand
“How can 7 feet of cable make such an improvement? I have been listening since 5:30 this morning and it is all new music; every track has new sounds and emotions that we have not here before! I had told Robin I was expecting a more natural voice and maybe some more space. But this is much more real than I could imagine – the music is “live” in the room with the spacing and separation of vocal groups perfect – you can count the number of singers! Wow Thank you for this!! And the echo and reverb decay of symphony halls is scary.
Today is my 61 birthday and I am listening to music better than anything I heard at RMAF!”
James M – North Carolina
“These things rock!” Now on to the further inspection of your wonderful speaker cables. Full sound, open, great bass and pin point imaging. I already have my system stuffed to the gills with your power cords and I say what could possibly improve upon the transformational ability of your PCs. Well the TWL speaker cables have upped the game in Every department! First of all for build, these things are high quality, flexible (they bend) and have great connector options. I’d say one thing that stands tall across all of your products is its natural sound. No tizziness, no part of the sound spectrum bumped up or down (very balanced indeed). I applaud TWL, you have done it again!!!

It has taken a little time (less than 100 hrs) for the speaker cables to come into their own but man I can’t tell you how much they have changed my entire system. There were rumors of 400 to 500 hours to get them broken in properly but with Pete burning them in it has not been bad. Up front the mids and treble are just incredible but the bass took some time to come into it’s own. The bass was there just not quite there. It was pronounced though so I hoped it would develop and it has. The upper end surprised me as it improved also. These cables present an incredible sound stage. Let me rephrase that. These cables allow the speakers to create an incredible sound stage with depth and clarity I didn’t know my system was capable of. To say that my system has gone up a notch or two is an understatement. There is no way I could have upgraded equipment to achieve this goal for the money spent on Pete’s cables and through this change I realize my equipment is a lot better than I thought.
I have been running through a lot of music to put the cables through their paces and one in particular is a song from Buddy Guy on his Blues Singer album called Hard Times. In it there is a subtle reverb that some systems don’t catch at all. I heard it and was astounded by how clear it is. Instruments have size and truthfulness in texture.
If you are debating or thinking about making changes in your system, I recommend trying a set of these out first. You may just find that you have a better set up than you thought or you can bet that whatever you do after getting them, you’ll know what that piece can give you. Besides if they were thought to be good enough to go on a $35k pair of speakers and get Steve Stone’s Best at RMAF, they are definitely worth a try. Thanks Pete for producing a synergistic cable that I have quickly come to love in the line up here in my humble abode.
Don F – North Carolina
I have tried a variety of much more expensive wires that changed one thing for the better, but usually skewed something else. Or the sound was different but not necessarily better. Pete’s speaker cables conduct signal with low distortion and a purity that allows the system to resolve musical details with ease. And at the price it’s a no brainer!
Greg T – New Jersey (speaker designer & owner of GT Audio Works)
I’m extremely happy with TWL speaker cable. Truth of tone, timbre and presence are the words that describe. Yes, the soundstage, imaging and decay of harmonics are the other strong points but the neutral tonality is what makes these cables special.
Charles R – NY, NY (Rollo Audio)
I’ve been a long-time advocate for Jon Risch’s Belden 89259 Cross Connect speaker cables, ever since I first started posting over at Audio Asylum. I’ve put those up against most everything I could, but still came back to them for their open and spacious presentation, musicality, natural timbre, and top and bottom extension. And yes, I’ve hosted quite a few A-B tests over the years with some high quality cables that will remain nameless.
Well TWL’s bi-wire speaker cables has now replaced my trusty 89259 Cross Connects. They just do everything so right! All the best attributes of my old cables, but more. More space, more detail, more extension at top and bottom, with a tighter bass and a dimensionality that is just awesome. But most of all, my foot is tapping. They are musical, making you want to sing out load and dance around. Pure enjoyment, and at a cost that is affordable compared to many highly praised market brands.
Definitely worth an audition for anyone looking for new cables.
There’s definitely a commonality between AC power cables and speaker cables. I mean, they both deliver power to a component. It’s only the connectors that are different (but all TWL’s use full copper connectors). And for those of you who have tried and now own Pete’s power cables you know what they have done for your system. Try the speaker cables too and you will hear more of the same.
Bob M – Massapequa, NY
To my ears, and to the ears here on the South Coast of Norway who have been able to audition your Power cables, it is obvious that you have the right approach to how a component should sound. There is a musical “rightness” to the way your “Seven Plus” cords affect the sound of my whole system. Your Power cord has been performing better than any other Power cord I have heard – even better, in some areas, than my Reference cord! (Cardas)
This must be the most cost-effective upgrade I have ever made. My tube preamp is better than I thought after mains Power was supplied by your excellent product. You are to be congratulated on having designed a Power cord that really excels in every area. In my case, the Whole soundstage expanded in all directions and the instruments and voices within that soundstage gained in size and became more palpable and three-dimensional. I shall write you in greater detail when I have taken its measure more fully after a few weeks’ further careful listening.
The excellence of Your Power cord both here in my own system, as well as in the system of an experienced audiophile friend (a teacher and musician) means that I would like to order additional power cables immediately.
I have been evaluating hi-fi Components since the late ‘sixties, and during the ‘nineties I was a reviewer and regular contributor to the Norwegian high-end journal Audio. I therefore have some empirical basis on which to make my judgments. But it is not necessary to have a pair of golden ears to immediately hear the sonic virtues of Your cables.
Robert A – NORWAY
You were very diplomatic in your resp onse to my question about likely sound quality differences that I might expect to hear by substituting the second Triode Wire Labs 7+ for my existing PS audio 10 ga power cord that feeds my PS audio power plant and preamp/DAC ( see below). I am less diplomatic about such things. There is virtually no decent comparison. The Triode Wire Labs is many times better!!
The bass and sound stage continued to improve beyond that achieved with the first TWL 7+ cord that I placed on my power amp. But even more important was the major improvement in tonal quality of music at all frequencies. They were greatly improved with the first cord, and I was not expecting the quantum improvement/synergy that came with the second cord. Also completely gone is the harsh sound/glare at high frequencies. The harmonics are just a pleasure to listen to. I am even able to listen to some old CD’s that were nearly unlistenable before the Triode Wire Labs power cords were installed. These poorly recorded CD’s still don’t sound great, but they are very listenable. Well recorded material is just wonderful, almost like being at the live event.
Thanks again for your prompt handling of my orders.

Please find here under a brief ‘review’ of the cables. These have now about 200 hours of play. The cables are very well made, quite heavy but at the same time very flexible and indeed, very easy to install and connect. At first, I noticed an increase in detail but a slight decrease in bass compared to my previous power cables (Audioplan Powercable S). But it didn’t take more than a few hours before bass sounding deeper and deeper. I have been searching for the correct terminology and vocabulary to define how your cables work and the qualities they bring to my system. But the best I can come up with is, is to say that it reminds me of “something was wrong before installing your cables” and then, somehow, it ‘clicked’ as if something was previously wrongly connected (pun intended) and all of a sudden, everything sounds, well, simply much better. I can’t say that there is better treble or richer bass, etc… Everything simply sounds better and better balanced and more importantly, even when listening ‘casually’. I don’t need to make any efforts or sit right between the speakers. It is that obvious. It is, as far as I am concerned, the best way to find out if a new component brings something positive: I need to hear it without having to listen to it. I have no idea why/how cables (in general and yours in particular) have a positive effect on sound…We are all aware of this endless ‘cable debate’. I read once that a ‘better’ power cable couldn’t make the water of a kettle boil faster JBut the addition of your cables to my system brings a much better sound, a sound that makes me listen to more music. And that is what it is all about. Last but not least, thank you again for an outstanding customer service.
Michel D – Denmark
I will come back for another two! I need to sell my Sablon Audio Gran Cables before I can purchase another pair. All I can say is the Triode Wire Labs 7+ “Whipped the Giants” from Sablon Audio.Once I have sold them, I will be back for another pair.
Zahir L – Los Angeles, CA
My 12 Plus Power cord arrived last Friday, was inmediately plugged into my Oppo and now has some 50 hours of additional burn-in, although 200 hrs. is what I consider adequate.
However, my first impression is that the usual excellent dynamics, soundstage and precise detail I expect from a very good cord are all there (I`ve had quite a few cords previously for comparison). But there is definitely something different about the TWL cord, and we (my wife, who could make a German Shepherd feel deaf, is always along) have finally come to conclude that there is now a “sweetness” to music that was previously absent. Double bass and cello notes are still still deep and “raspy” but the sound now seems to gently float in the air, piano notes now sound somewhat fuller and more extended, and violins are no longer penetrating, but rather, seem to caress the listener`s ears, to the point that it would seem Salvatore Accardo finally got a better instrument. Extremely difficult to describe, but not at all a subtle difference. This is the sort of sound I was looking for, as we are more into listening to music, as opposed to permanent equipment testing, but did not expect it from a cord almost fresh out of the box. An amazing and ear-opening experience, and after a proper burn-in period, will be in contact for a 10 Plus cord which I now realize my amp desperately needs.
Luis C – Santiago, Chile
I’d like to inform you about my experience with two of your “seven plus” power cables. In my system I use LossLess Signature cables and they sound very neutral with lots of detail and a very good soundstage. However they lack a bit of rhythm and can sound a bit dry. So I was looking for a cable that is more energetic and adds a bit more live, power and a analogue flavour to the sound of my already tubed set. Well I can say your “seven plus” does exactly what I was looking for. A much more lively cable (prat), a fuller and more melodic low and a very smooth sounding mids and high. The soundstage of the LessLoss is better, at least in depth but overall with your cables the music sounds more like a live performance and more analoque. Very good indeed. I use one “seven plus” on my NuVista 300 power amp and the other was for my Blue Circle BC6000 power filter, but in the end I use # 2 on my ARC LS 26 preamp. Sounds wonderful. At this price point and much higher your cables sound fabulous!
A special note on your service and communication. Like other Dutch customers , it was a problem to get the cable over here. In fact, the second cable was lost somewhere halfway and I think we will see it never again. The way you solved the problem for me shows how you think and act in relation to customers and customer satisfaction. Not only your power cords are excellent but you as a person are special too. Thanks!
Paul U – The Netherlands
Peter I wanted to thank you for an amazing product… I took my time writing this review because I wanted to be certain about this power cord so I wanted a thorough break-in period to truly evaluate
this amazing flexible power cord. I love the fact that this power cord is a 10 gauge snake and its flexibility is so important to me, which is a huge bonus. I had power cords ranging from $350 and beyond and I also heard power cords in the $2000 range and more.
Your cables by far can either match up to them or surpass them…
I highly recommend anything you create. I have full faith and trust in your products. You a wonderful and passionate audiophile junkie to talk to and you’re just like the rest of us… Loving your music. Lol
Thank you Peter :O)
Mike L – Boulder, CO
Initial Feedback – Had it hooked up for a few hours. MAJOR improvement over my old cable. Very impressed! Looking forward to hearing more as it breaks in. Thanks!!.
After Several Days – This cable is the single best upgrade I have ever made. Period. Everything is better.
Rick R. – Windermere, FL
Pete, the cords arrived today as promised. Executive Summary: WOW!!!. Ill give a better review in time but after my first listen I have to ask “who removed those cloth bags covering my B&W 803 Diamonds” and who scraped the mud off the midrange drivers? I cannot believe I have been on an upgrade path for years and not until now did I do anything about stock power cords. I feel bad for my local audio dealer because I wont be buying that sub that I have been talking about. No need now. The bass is tight and full.
Bill P – Lexington, KY
This is not a full review because I have not had enough time to do one due to problems with both my DAC and amp. However, I did get to listen to both cords for several hours; the 7+ on my amp and, then, the 8+ on my DAC. For several days prior and in the hours leading up to the switch, I had been using a pair of 8 gauge Purist Audio 20th Anniversary power cords ($2500 list each) on the equipment, that a friend had lent me. The Purist, compared to my own cords (which are only 10 gauge), were explosively dynamic and effortless in presentation. They had a lower noise floor and a deeper soundstage. The interesting thing is that the TWL cords, at a fifth of the price, matched the Purist in dynamics and effortlessness. They did not have the really deep soundstage that the Purist did but the latter, in comparison, sounded a bit too forward for my taste. Soundstage on both was wide and tall. The Purist were more incisive (sharper transient attacks) and separated individual lines better but the TWL overall sounded more coherent, of a piece. What is more, and of utmost importance to me, the TWL cords produced a greater harmonic richness/tonal density, without being veiled or muddy. The end result being that, in my system, I preferred the TWL 7 & 8 Plus to the Purist 20th Anniversary power cords. This is an amazing achievement for Triode Wire Labs!
Robert F – Boca Raton, FL
Just a quick note to let you know how pleased I am with the significant step up the system has taken with the mains cable loom. Macro and micro dynamics, a strong point in my system any way, has noticeably improved and the level of upper mid glare (IMO a weakness of the Duos) has reduced. Most significant is the greater sense of air, separation and depth on recordings previously deemed lacking in these areas. No it’s not transformative but at this level little is. However my connection to my music is up a notch and for that I am grateful.
Alastair M – London, England
Just a quick note to express my complete satisfaction with your audiophile-grade power cable products. The soundstage, imaging, and overall quality of the vinyl sound improved substantially having deployed your products. I am impressed! Thanks again for the excellent customer service in addition to delivering quality products at reasonable cost. The value-to-cost-ratio is very high in my opinion. I’m surprised more people don’t know about you. I’ll do my part to pass along the accolades.
Steve W – Reno, Nevada
I love both your 10+ and 12+ cables! I did not tell you before but next to my daytime job, in my free time, I am a freelance writer for the biggest audio internet site of the Benelux www.hifi.nl (dutch only i’m afraid) and for the monthly Dutch High End magazine MusicEmotion. So you can understand that I have heard a few power cords in my time. The ones around the price point where your cables are were amongst others Siltech SP30, AH! TriAC, Essential Audio Tools and the first active power cord of Synergistic Research. Your cables give me far more pleasure! One more reason why I still hope that the 7+ will eventually arrive here. I know that your cables will sound even better in a month or two (I listen to music a lot:-)) and can hardly wait to arrive at that point. Of course I will let you know! Thanks for your wonderful cables!
Jan de Jeu – The Netherlands
You have made me very happy! I have the cord connected to my super musical and natural sounding amplifier, which is handcrafted in the U.S.A.; the “Seven Plus” shows me the qualities of my Single-Ended Triode amplifier. The Incredible sound of your power cord amazed me, full bodied, natural sound. Super musical, gives it a pure analogue sound; warm, but not too much. Your cable has no shortcomings; Neutral, honest, does not polish raw voices, does not make a thin sounding recording bigger or so. The Attack, the Timing… Now I can hear what it really can do with the music! Atmospheric details, well balanced. Relaxed but not languid- I like slam, attack, where it needs to be, a rock concert is not a lullaby. I believe it’s the most musical cord ever made. Music is emotion too, I have heard that many times by advertisement, forget it. This cord can do it really! Tears are dropping. I dare to say that the “Seven Plus” is comparable with cables, 3-4 times its price. The most important is the sound quality but I have never seen such beautiful cord. The cable is a great piece of craftsmanship! Synergy; My loudspeakers have the tendency to work better when I have to turn up the volume, but now it is another story; I can listen by low level volume, the details are not gone. Transparent as I have ever seen; a room-filling sound!
So Pete, you are a great artist! You cannot imagine how happy you have made me with that cord. Now the music has got me as I never heard before…
Ric – The NETHERLANDS
I have to say that you have outdone yourself with the new “Seven Plus”! As good as the older American Eight is, the new Seven Plus is in another league. I hooked it up to my PI Audio Group Uberbuss and the difference, especially with digital was immediately apparent. The sound staging is huge (wider and deeper) and upper frequencies are smoother. I noticed a bit of brightness on some discs when using a digital source and the older “Eight” and now that has been completely eliminated with the “Seven Plus”! Everything is a bit more relaxed sounding as well. Also, your level of service is outstanding and your prices are quite fair, especially considering that each cable is handmade! Keep up the great work!
Glenn K. – San Francisco, CA
I have installed only three of the total of eight TWL power cables purchased recently. The two custom “Seven Plus” on the Krell KSA-250 stereo power amps, and a “Eight Plus” on the BAT VK-52SE pre-amp.
And the installation of just these three power cables have made the most significant improvement than any previous cable or component upgrade I have EVER experienced in nearly 35 years!
Your power cables are amongst the rarest type of audio product in that they provide a truly astonishing level of performance, and without the insanely excessive price tags that have become common in the high end industry. Absolutely first class performance at approachable real world value makes your TWL power cables an unescapable choice for my audio system. Congratulations Peter for developing such an exceptional range of power cables.
Listening to music with them in place has made me happy, and I find myself SMILING a lot!
Tony S. – AUSTRALIA
After 45-50 hours, your power cord is fantastic! Bass and treble very extended. Sound is rich, organic, warm but detailed without auditory fatigue, and above all, and most important to me, very natural. Honestly, I´m very happy with your “Eight Plus American”, my best power cable! I will purchase another “8 plus” with Furutech Schuko connectors for my cd player and transport.
Francisco G. – SPAIN
I was going to email you next week as the 12 Gauge (“Twelve American”) is almost fully burned in, but I’ll tell you now—holy sh*t what a cord! Now granted the CDP (Bryston BDP-1) has something to do with it, but the sound is just spectacular. Very, very quiet background and the sound is so organic & analog. The cord & CDP sound like they were made for one another. PRAT to the max jack!
Tom H – Springfield, IL
Thanks Pete for your most professional response in my purchase of the 5 ft. “10 American”. The cable is a Seriously Good Sounding cable! Over the years, I’ve purchased a number of notable and high dollar A.C. cables, but none can match the musical rightness, balance and completeness as the 10 American… Considering the selling price, your cable is possibly the best bargain in all of audio! I’m enclosing payment for another 5 ft. “10 American”.
Lance H – Payson, AZ
When I received my “Eight American” I auditioned it through my chain in this order: Computer, DAC, amp. Changes were immediate and positive in all three; however, plugged into the amp, a modified (V-Caps) 35 watt Dynaco SCA 35 the change was simply profound. High frequency distortion I thought was systemic to the amp disappeared. My speakers are Klipsch RF 82 II’s with a sensitivity of 98 db +/- 3db and the Dynaco really makes them sing, or so I thought! After adding your cable the presentation became completely natural, glare having been 99% eliminated. Thanks. Will be saving my nickels and dimes for another one.
Brian O – Stratford, NJ
The cable arrived today safely & I’m listening as I type these words. All I can say is I’m very happy with the cable. Thank you so very much! I’ve got it running into my Belkin Pure AV PF-30 (I’ll likely try it plugged directly into the power outlet as well) and the sound has much more *whomp*. The seeming increase in power is kind of incredible. Detail and texture are superb. Instruments & voices have much room/separation in the soundstage. I’m listening via a pair of Ohm Walsh 3000s. Can’t wait to hear how the sound is after 500 hours!
I certainly hope you are in business to stay as I plan on getting a new CD player (Bryston BCD-1 or a Primare CD31) in the not too distant future & I think I’d like to outfit it with a 12 or maybe(?) a 10 gauge. I’m also planning on buying a better power conditioner/surge suppressor after that, so another 8 gauge. You’ve got another happy customer on your hands that want more!
I’ll send you more feedback @ 500 hours.
Follow-up – Just wanted to get back to you regarding the cord. I believe it’s fully broken in now and all I can say is I love it. It has settled in very nicely—sound is very natural, with just the right amount of warmth. As I said previously the space between the instruments & voices is superb, and the overall sound very dynamic.
Tom H – Springfield, IL
Got the cables Saturday. They look spectacular and man are just nice in a slightly understated manner. Gotta love that. Worked all weekend so I haven’t listened a whole lot. But what I hear right now is a sense of ease. An effortless reproduction of music with no extra noise and strain. I will keep you in the know when I listen some more. Thanks for representing kick ass American quality and enthusiasm in what you do. I appreciate it.
Follow-up – In terms of hitting the 500 hr mark. I may be close but not quite there yet. I am by no means an expert at coming up with bloated words to describe performance of audio equipment. What I am familiar with is how certain things have changed what I hear from my system in my room. I don’t just sit in the sweet spot and listen. I wander around and do things. I work on my bicycles. I play with the cat. And I sit and critically listen. I use a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum with Gold Lion KT88s and some Mullard 4003’s and old RCA 5071’s. I have a Rega Apollo and Paradigm Studio 40’s. My interconnects are from Snake River Audio. Which like you, are a small company that tries to keep things reasonable. But still spendy nonetheless. Anyway, your cables are spectacular in build and audio presentation. They are there but they are not. Two particular cd’s come to mind. Mumford and Sons and Adele. The vocals are spot on with this eerie effortless, roomfilling sound. Silent where silence is intended. Powerful and explosive without distortion when called upon. I think what these cables do they do very well and if anything they, along with my other components, expose poorly recorded audio. I guess what I can say is that what you build in your cables opens everything else up. Makes you stop and listen. And when listening critically, my brain hasn’t been more pleased. For lack of more technical words I would just close the eyes late at night and let the music do the talking and you will understand. Well done Pete.
Justin H – Plymouth, MN
Just a quick note to let you know that the cord sounds great… more dynamics and “PRAT” and very quiet! Nice upgrade from my older cord that costs almost 3 times as much. I just may have to order another one!
Glenn K – San Francisco, CA
The second model Eight gauge cord came today. I’ve been moving 3 different pairs to various locations in the chain. Your cords have made positive changes wherever I put them but it was when I placed them on my power conditioner that my jaw dropped to the floor. The veil (that I was not aware of before) lifted. Soundstage got better. I’ve had countless cords come and go, many of them 4 times the cost of yours. I’ll be ordering more. Thank you for your excellent offerings at reasonable prices.
Diane B. – Berkeley, CA
I do believe that I have caught a audible glimpse of what heaven will be like! I spent all of yesterday afternoon and evening listening to my music. Following the introduction of your 10 American Gauge power cords into my system, I was so captivated that I couldn’t stop. Simply stated, I was hoping for a quickly-apparent improvement, but what I got was a total revelation. It’s crazy to think that power cords can have such a dramatic impact on an already excellent system, but the results are undeniable. I replaced a Cardas Hexlink powering a Wyrd4Sound DAC-2 (it really is as good as the reviews say) and two iEGO power cords running a pair of Dynaudio BM5a powered-monitors (put-em on a maple blocks, spiked to the floor, with a brass cone to tip them way up and you’ll be blown away). In both of these applications, replacing my old power cords with the TWL, brought immediate and dramatic improvements, across the board. BTW, the primary source is a Mac Mini, driving the DAC through a Locus-Design Axis USB Cable, running the new Fidelia player. Take away the Locus-Design cable, or go back to iTunes and the music dies… seriously!
There was an amazing widening in all three dimensions of the sound stage. I’d never heard anything like it before, I think anywhere, but definitely in my listening room for sure. I didn’t think it possible. The presentation of how my system delivers music went from an already incredible, to jaw-dropping amazing. The saying, “You don’t know what you got until it’s gone” applies here.
I’ve heard reviewers talk about things like, “The music emerged from a dead silence.” Or, “The notes are surrounded by a dead silence.” I never really, truely understood what they were talking about… until now. Unless you’ve heard a system that really does this, one has no idea.
The impact of hard-hit bass notes is tangible. The system that was already quick, is now crazy-quick. You wouldn’t think small monitors are capable of reaching out and slapping your whole body when the music calls for it… but mine do now. They can now deliver a hit-and-run assault that puts a smile on your face.
With the TWL cables in place, the music is more pure, more harmonically correct, more like the real musical event. The system has taken on even more of an effortless, analog quality. Individual musical lines can be separated, but yet at the same time, they blend together in incredible ways, just as real music does. This is what it all about, folks. Set aside all the audiophile terms, phrases and descriptions. After 30 years in this hobby, I’ve finally arrived. The TWL was the last missing ingredient that I was looking to find. After I save up to purchase another TWL cable or two, I’ll be done, done, done, on the hardware side… I’m now onto finding more music! It’s been a long road.
Communication & Value:
Pete, thanks so much! The value that your cables offer, is off the charts. Your communication throughout my researching/inquiring phase and then though the purchasing phase was exemplary. I could not be happier with the entire experience. Well Done!
Dave B – Illnois
“Can you say N-A-T-U-R-A-L? Can you say M-U-S-I-C-A-L?? How about REAL??? Ok, Ok, I’ll just keep it simple…”WOW” is the right word.
- More depth….the wall behind my speakers just moved back
- Imaging locked in even more (and it was darn good before if you don’t mind me saying so)
- Air/Space/Blackness… all are more……better……”just right”
The best way to describe it is to say that ‘the passing by from another room’ test just fakes you out into wondering a bit longer whether it’s live or memorex…. A very high compliment indeed.
Pete told me there’s about 100hrs on them so far and I’ve added about 10 more at this point…I can’t say what another couple of hundred are going to do but my guess is they’ll only be getting better.
For the record, my system is finicky, persnickety, and unforgiving…sort of like a spoiled prima-dona…(the notorious Apogee personality) but when it all gels, it’s very engaging.
And my system LOVES these power cords.
Cables being replaced (which I have always liked and have served me well) are available and soon to be on A’gon. Next I’ll be ordering more 8g’s for my line conditioners and then we’ll see what else.
Nice job Pete; these are keepers.”
Grant A. – NY
“Received the cord and it sounds great on my Class “D” amp, best cord I have had on the amp. I would like to order a ten gauge to try on my pre and dac. I will order on the website”
Rich W. Bothell, WA
“Have to say I really like the tone of these cords in my system. Sound is balanced with strong bass without being muffled. Not something I usually hear. So far so good – they will be keepers!”
Jeff K. Sea Girt, NJ
” I have ordered another 5′ Ten. In my 40+ years as an Audiophile very few things have astounded me. Your cords are one that has. Congratulations on a truly exceptional product”
Zack S. Chicago, IL
“Pete, your cords sound unbelievable! I never thought that changing a power cord on my custom Western Electric 437A preamplifier could make it sound that much better… quieter, wider sound stage, really natural & real sounding! Thanks!”
George E. – NY
“These cords rock. Easily bested cords 3 – 4x the price. Definitely an uber bargain!”
Mike C. – NY
“These cords were a great addition to any system we put together at the July Rave. In amps or CDPs, a noticeable difference for the good.”
Charles R – President: Audio Syndrome Audiophile Club
“I’ve had both cords from Pete and Mojo Audio in my system, and IMO Pete’s cords were the winner.”
Greg P. – NY
“Your cord got the Mott’s. Detail, quiet, even, a touch of warmth. I have this cord on my pre-amp, and am looking forward to checking out a set on my amps. Very nicely done.”
Mike F. – PA
“Just installed a full set of Triode Pete’s cords – preamp, amp, CDP and DAC and the improvement was immediately apparent. The sound is now more detailed, open and the background is definitely blacker. I had thought the “veil being lifted” descriptions perhaps a bit hyperbolic before but now I get it…”
Dave M – PA
“As an experiment whilst using the Consonance cords [ upgraded 6ga.] that came with my amps we tried the Triode Pete’s cords in our Plasma and LCD TVs both LGs using Monster power conditioning and a Richard Tice Enhancer with the Plasma. Never expected much to be honest. To our surprise the difference was staggering. My wife who usually thinks I’m nuts agreed the color and sharpness was improved.”
Charles R – NY
“Just got a chance to try one of Pete’s 12awg power cords. Quite amazing… On initial listen (Pete already burned it in), it presented a very relaxed, natural and highly musical presentation. It does not seem to be a cord where you ‘suddenly’ start hearing new details or are startled by transient response, deeper base, larger soundstage, or any of the other audio descriptors we tend to use. But it does seem to offer a greater sense of toe-tapping PRAT that makes it quite easy to just lose yourself in the music.”
Mike C – NC
“The first time I got to hear a few of Pete’s ‘prototype’ cords, the first thing that struck me was how musical they were. It wasn’t so much about emphasis but more like an effortless quality of the musical spectrum that I found very intriguing. I may be trying out some monoblocks soon, so I need to order a couple more of Pete’s cords. Very nice results with my Atma-Sphere amp so far.”
Greg P – NY
“While auditioning the Nightshade Beacon 2 Preamp I decided to try something different. Pete’s cord made a real nice improvement compared to an ESP, Virtual Reality and Omega Mikro. Bass is crazy good and the top is detailed but not thin, oh my.”
Charles R – President: Audio Syndrome Audiophile Club
“I’ve been playing electric guitar for over 30 years. I thought you were pulling my leg when you said your power cord might make a difference. I can’t believe it but the tone coming out of my Carvin EL34 tube amp has improved considerably – more dynamic, livelier, quieter at idle, too. You’re not getting your cable back!”
Bob T. – NY
“The whole system just sounds more relaxed and effortless. It’s like the difference between an amateur musician who can play well but really has to work at it vs. a seasoned elite professional who just has the music kind of flow out of him. In terms of a detailed rundown of what changed, I can’t say I noticed anything in particular that the cable stood out as doing overly well but the total sound just had a big sense of “rightness” to it. (I always get nervous when any aspect of a component stands out as that much better than the other aspects as they usually get tiring over the long run.) When I had the tour cable at my house I tried it on both my power amp and my CDP individually and got a nice improvement on both. Pete is in the process of making up a second cord for me. I can’t wait to hear what they will sound like together. “

“I’ve got to echo the same results (as Tom M)… These cables just let the music flow effortlessly. And like your analogy to a musician, it may all be in the timing. PRAT rules!
I’ve now got a 12awg WE and 10awg WE from Pete as well as one of his Buss cables on my Uber Buss. By far, the biggest difference/improvement was putting either of the WE power cords on my DAC/Preamp. After that the results are additive albeit in a less striking manner (at least for me, YMMV).”
